Every origin story has an understudy. In Green Lantern's case it was Guy Gardner, the other man on Earth worthy of Abin Sur's ring, passed over only because Hal Jordan happened to be closer to the crash. In 1968 John Broome and Gil Kane gave that understudy his own story, a what-if in which the ring chose differently.
Nobody in 1968 could have guessed how long Guy would last. The character DC introduced as an alternate became one of the most durable and most argued-over Green Lanterns in the mythos, and he was on movie screens in 2025.
This copy is graded CGC 3.5 (Very Good-) with off-white to white pages. The cover colors are still bright, and wear is consistent with the grade. It's an accessible way to own a genuine first appearance.
CGC certification #4788512006. Ships fully insured in a Gemini graded-comic mailer within one business day.
